Okay, let's settle the internet's favorite low-key obsession. Has Ja Morant ever dunked on LeBron James? The basketball world has been buzzing about this for years. And honestly? The answer is more fun than you'd expect.
The Duck on a Santa Sleigh Moment
We all remember Ja's famous Christmas Day 2022 masterpiece. The young Grizzlies star threw down an absolutely violent poster dunk over everyone — and LeBron James just happened to be in the paint. It wasn't a clean individual poster, but it was close enough to send the internet into full meltdown mode.
Social media exploded instantly. People were screaming "JA DUNKED ON THE KING!" within seconds of the whistle. The clip racked up views by the millions before halftime even ended.

What Actually Happened?
Here's the real thing though. Ja launched himself at the rim while multiple Lakers defenders were scrambling. LeBron was reaching, yes, but he wasn't exactly the primary victim of the dunk. The block wasn't a clean one-on-one situation.
So technically? It's a gray area. Ja definitely dunked near LeBron. He definitely dunked with several Lakers bodies around him. Whether that counts as dunking on kind of depends on how strict you feel like being.

The King's Reputation Is on the Line Here
LeBron James is 40 years old and still throwing down after-dunk dunks himself. So a little respect is due. He's not exactly someone who gets easily posterized in the paint anymore.
But that hasn't stopped fans from making compilation videos of Ja's most explosive plays. They love zooming in on whoever is standing closest and screaming about historical slights.

Why This Debate Is So Irresistible
Here's the thing — this whole conversation is just pure sports joy at its finest. We're arguing about a split-second moment in a game that already happened over a year ago. Every single person has an opinion, and nobody wants to back down.
Ja Morant is a human highlight reel. He flies through the air like the rim owes him money. LeBron is a living legend who's been dunking for two decades. The matchup practically writes itself.

The Verdict? Sort Of, Maybe, We'll See
Officially? A clean one-on-one Ja-over-LeBron dunk hasn't existed in the record books yet. But the Christmas Day moment gets absurdly close, and fans will never let that slide quietly.
Ja is still young and fearless enough to try it again any time they meet. LeBron still plays like he has something to prove every single night. So keep your eyes wide open the next time these two collide on the court.
Somewhere out there, someone is editing another slow-motion meme right as we speak. Because that's what makes basketball the greatest show on earth — it's not just the plays, it's the obsession with every single frame.
