So you've just binge-read every single book in The House of Night series, and now you're wandering around like a vampire chick who just lost her flock. Don't worry — I've got you covered on what to read next, and trust me, it's way less painful than getting a tattoo in the back of a school parking lot.
Other Vampire Adventures That Slap
If you loved Zoey and her tricked-out vampire mark, then Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz needs to be on your shelf immediately. Imagine the gossip from Mean Girls but set among vampires and werewolves living it up in Manhattan. The drama is elite, the romance is juicy, and someone is always plotting — it's basically preppy horror at its finest.
Another absolute gem is A Bite's Guide to Surviving Vampires-style chaos in The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Okay, so Lestat is definitely not your cheerful high school vamp, but the seductive storytelling will have you hooked like electrolytes on a demon-tortured teen. It's darker, moodier, and way more brooding — think vampire that reads philosophy instead of flips through yearbook photos.

But What If You Also Want Magical Academies?
The Academy by C.J. Evermore scratches that itch if your favorite part of House of Night was the part where teens learn to throw magical fire at things. Nonstop action, sassy friends, and supernatural powers — honestly, it's the buffet table of magical teens doing dangerous things for no good reason. Your eyelids won't even have time to droop.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman bends your brain in the best way possible, taking a school for magic and blending it with all of life's wonderful disappointments. Think Hogwarts, but the faculty are absolute weirdos. You'll finish the book and automatically question whether reality was ever real in the first place. Confusion has never been so enjoyable.

Werewolves Want a Turn Too
The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater proves that werewolves can carry a story just as hard as any fanged creature can. You get the darkness, the secrets, and that feeling you get when you realize your new friend has claws and not a Doctor's note. The romance here is painfully achey, like stubbing your toe but emotionally.
On the sillier (but still brilliant) side of the pack, there's The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearn. It stars a 2,000-year-old nerdy druid who, yes, has had plenty of encounters with jealous werewolf packs trying to bite him. It's ridiculous, it's fun, and it has been called the one book series to humorously survive actual Norse gods. I'd pay real money just to see someone try.

Where to Start?
Start with whichever matches your mood: need sass and gossip, open Blue Bloods; wanting a scholary jolt, open The Magicians; craving wolf-flavored drama, open Mercy Falls. You really can't mess up any of these — they all scratch that supernatural-teen-tries-to-not-die itch you've got now. Grab your snack, choose your title, and prepare to read until the pages glow in the dark. That's actually a new feature I'm requesting in all books going forward.
Happy reading, and remember: if you ever discover that you're actually a vampire, at least you'll have a solid bookshelf to clear first. You're welcome.
