Let’s settle the biggest mystery of our generation: just how old is Lee Jung Jae? You know him as the sexy, tired, squinting survivor from Squid Game. But let’s be real—his age is a better-kept secret than the next game in the series.
Born on November 15, 1972, Lee Jung Jae is currently 51 years old. Yes, you read that right. He’s old enough to be your dad’s cooler, better-dressed friend who still knows how to party.
Wait, that can’t be right
I know what you’re thinking: “No way does Gi-hun look like someone who remembers vinyl records the first time around.” But here’s the kicker—he debuted as a model in 1993. That’s before half of TikTok was even a twinkle in the internet’s eye.

He’s been acting for over three decades. That means he was already a heartthrob when you were probably still eating glue in kindergarten. His secret? He likely made a deal with a beautiful, ageless demon, or he just drinks a lot of water and cries about student loans—like the rest of us.
The math is both terrifying and impressive
Lee Jung Jae was 22 when he starred in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and 28 when he became a movie star. Now he’s 51, and he still looks like he could beat you in a fistfight and then ask for your number. That’s not aging—that’s leveling up.

In Squid Game, his character is supposedly in his late 40s, which means he was playing a character younger than himself. Most actors do the opposite—they play younger until their back gives out. He played older and still made us swoon. Legend.
But wait, there’s more shocking news
Lee Jung Jae is actually older than Brad Pitt? No. Pitt was born in 1963. Lee is younger than Pitt, but older than Leonardo DiCaprio (born 1974). So he’s in that sweet spot where he can date a 25-year-old without being totally creepy—but he doesn’t, because he’s a gentleman.

Also, he’s been dating Lim Se-ryung, a former model and heiress, for over a decade. She’s 48. So they’re both walking around defying time like a pair of human Benjamin Buttons who forgot to age.
The real question: will he ever get a wrinkle?
Scientists haven’t found evidence of Lee Jung Jae aging, but they have a few theories. One: he bathes in the tears of mafia fans who lost at New World. Two: he gains a year of life every time someone says “Red Light, Green Light” in a creepy doll voice.

But here’s the truth: at 51, he’s still winning. He just won a Primetime Emmy for Squid Game—the first Asian actor to do so for a non-English lead role. That’s like winning the Olympics of TV while looking like you haven’t even broken a sweat.
So how old is Lee Jung Jae? Old enough to be a legend, young enough to be your next obsession
Bottom line: he’s 51. But don’t let that number fool you. He’s got the energy of a 30-year-old, the wisdom of a 60-year-old, and the skin of a 25-year-old who just discovered retinol. The only thing aging faster than him is our collective obsession with his career.
So go ahead—Google “Lee Jung Jae 1995” and weep. He looked good then. He looks good now. And in 2050, when we’re all powered by robot parts, he’ll still be out there, squinting at a red light, looking fabulous.
